Hi everyone ~ I am brand new at this blogging thing, so I am sure I'll be editing, rearranging, adding or deleting things until I get the hang of it, so please bear with me!

I wanted to start a blog about dogs so that we can all share comments, tips, tricks, advice, or even promote products and services in our blogs! I will welcome any subject regarding our canine friends, so please feel free to comment. As dog lovers, we know that our pets are the center attention in our lives. Our children are all grown and have families of their own, so I suppose that "empty nest syndrome" needed to be replaced with having dogs around to love and spoil.

We have 3 miniature Dachshunds and they are a handful. They bring us joy, love, and laughter, but they can also be a pain sometimes. If you own a Dachshund, you know what I'm talking about. The youngest two are barkers, which literally drive us crazy at times. It is one of the hardest things to control with this specific breed. There is a book on the market called "Barking Relief" by Mary Meyer, and it is a must-read for owners of barkers. A wonderful, well-written guide. Check it out at:

You may have received an email called "A Pet's Ten Commandments." It's about what your pet would like to tell you if they could talk in our language. If you haven't seen it yet, click on this link: http://home.att.net/~hideaway_today/t125/pet.htm It's very heartwarming, so have a tissue handy and make sure your sound is on.

Having three in-house Doxies is a bit challenging at times, but we didn't stop at one. Dachshunds are like m&m's. You can't have just one...

When Autumn is ready, we plan on allowing her to have puppies with Oliver. If there are 2 male puppies born, I plan on naming one 'Oscar' and the other one 'Mayer'. All three of our dogs were pre-named when we got them so it took the fun out of naming our pets.
Have a wonderul day,
Donna
